Fitness Assessment: Welcome

WHAT DOES A FITNESS ASSESSMENT ENTAIL?

Your first session with our trainer will be a series of testing to help us get a complete overview of your fitness level. You will take part in assessments that measure your cardiovascular health, muscular strength, endurance, flexibility, balance, and body composition.

MUSCULOSKELETAL ASSESSMENT

This portion of the assessment includes 6 tests that measure your muscular strength and endurance through assessments like the push up and back extension. We will also evaluate your flexibility and balance through various dynamic tests. 

These results give us a starting point of your fitness level to better tailor the program toward you and can be re-assessed in 2 months to track progress.

CARDIOVASCULAR ASSESSMENT

This assessment takes place on either a bike or a treadmill and will be dependent on your goals and familiarity with each machine. This is a graded sub-maximal exercise test, which means we will start at an easy level and increase the difficulty every few minutes, up to your 85% max effort.


This test is important for defining your cardiovascular health and creating cardio programs specifically for you.

BODY COMPOSITION

Whether you're looking to lose weight or gain muscle, an overview of body composition can give you a starting point to compare your successes to down the road. A body composition assessment includes height, weight and waist circumference measurements. Skinfolds or girth measurements are also done to attain a body fat percentage.
